We stroll hand in hand against an ice-blue
alpine landscape of cloud and snow,
you stand prouder than the pine trees
with amber eyes that outshine the sun,
our smiles radiant with the moment's joy;
Two of us –a single plume of breath, intertwined,
footprints snuggle into the welcoming ground
etching a trail of happiness deep into the earth.
So ephemeral –already erased by the fresh snowfall.
The heart does a dangerous somersault, stumbling
--upon these old forgotten photographs.
